I have the Ranger II which is similar, It feels & handles great. of course it has extra work done to it.

I've shot a Ranger II in 9mm for a while and it's a lovely 1911 style gun. The Commander length seems tailor made for shooting 9. With the lower cost of the Spartan and the apparently bull target barrel (no bushing) this new Spartan looks like it could be a real winner.

Thanks! $825 IMO is a great price for an STI 1911 Commander. I will own this pistol very soon.
