I bought a win mod 70 extreme weather in 270win off the EE here last year. I worked up a load with accubonds that is very accurate. I gave this rifle to my son and he is shooting it very well. The lop is a bit long for him and we both are not crazy about the stock itself. (Bell & Carlson).
I want to get a better stock and maybe lose a bit of weight. I have checked out online Wildcat stocks but they are closed until October I believe, so I haven't been able to talk to them with my questions.
Any other stocks I should be considering that you fellas could recommend?

I have Wcat stocks B&C stocks and Mcmiillan & Grayboe stocks AND for a hunting rifle I prefer the WildCat stocks JMO. RJ

My experience too. The Wildcat is very light. The McMillan is very strong. I will buy more wildcats in the future.

Is your son still growing? You could find a wood stock on the EE and cut it down until he grows into the B&C. Personally I'd hate to spend the money on a light weight stock that he will outgrow in 2 years.

Then I'd email wildcats and ask about a reduced length of pull. They do take a bit of work and patience to finish but well worth the time if you enjoy a project like that.
