New stock from Bell and Carlson

I was looking for a stock for one of my future buid and I was browsing the Bell and Carlson site and I noticed they just released a new stock.

Its the Target/Competition model.

Inlets for : Tikka T3 ( for CTR dbm ), Rem 700 SA & LA, Savage 10 & 12 actions ( top or bottom bolt release ) and Weatherby Vanguard/Howa 1500.

At 395 U$D, I think it will make a good/more affordable alternative to the McMillan stock ( which btw, lacks of quality control these days ).

What you guys think of this new stock ?

I saw that too and was very interested. Still haven’t decided if I want one yet as there are so few reviews out there.

Profit River an get them for around 600$ Canadian.

Its more their utility grade stock that need a bit more of cosmetical quality control.

Which is good and about less than half the cost of a McMillan A3-4-5.

For Remington 700 owners there is also the Grayboe Renegade stock option, which is, I think, a sister company of McMillan.
They are way more affordable than the McMillan but its the more basic A5-ish model.
They doesn't inlet for other actions tho...
 
I have one of these stocks on my Howa from Prophet River , They are an amazing upgrade with the full length alum block, really keeps it solid. I would say that it is an affordable substitute to the McMillan stock. They are pretty well a drop in fit. I didnt have to skim bed it because it made such a massive improvement to my groups from the lack of flexing that occurs. I have heard that some people need to remove some of the edges around the action.
 
Got my stock in today for savage 10 fcp sr

Initial impressions are good despite a few things.

1- one of the front swivel stud is srewed on sideways which makes the head of the stud no contacting the forehand entierly. Bit of a bummer but thats only fit and finish and doesnt affect the stock performance

2- B&C state in their instruction that there may be some rub at the bold handle/handle cutout in the stock. There is some slight rub on mine at the rear portion of the cutout, which should be easily solved with some light sanding/filing

3- their instruction states the action screws should engage at least 3 turns but my front one only engages 2,25-2,5 turns, not sure this is an issue. I contacted them

Overall, stock looks great, fit and finish is clearly not a priority but it is still a better stock then the accustock. Need to find the proper allen wrench size to play with the adjustable cheek piece.

Buy a set of longer screws. I bought a set from Boyds and they were quality made. Longer screws are a must for aftermaket stock on a Savage.

Nice, good price point. Mcmillan is solid, and a step above them is Manners. Their stocks are in another league... expect to be in the thousands and several month wait time for the fully custom build though.
 
I just sold the stock as my project kind of aborded. Needed the cash quick for a new project. The stock was perfect. Good ergo. It was ordered from prophet river

i got one for my T3X CTR. for anyone that is interested in this stock for their T3X CTR and was curious about the possibility of having to modify the ejection port area, the ejection port cut out does overlap a little bit of the bottom of the ejection port but it does not affect ejection at all for me.

i purchased it from prophet river. they shipped immediately and it arrived on my doorstop in a couple days. installed without any issues.

also on the rifle are a heathen muzzle brake and bix'n'andy trigger which were purchased from other vendors.
