New stock idea for my Lee Enfield *NOW WITH PICS OF PROTOTYPE*

very nice work. but why is it in MILSURP? gunsmithing I would think. do some laminate to original spec. then you would have something .$$

Nicely done! I prefer them un-touched, but everything is reversable, and looks great. It's a great choice for a sportered Lee. How have you found the scope mount? I have the same one, and find it sits a little off center of the bore. I can sight it in at 100m, but it's out windage-wise once I shoot at 300m after just adjusting elevation.

You sir, have inspired me to try making a butt stock for my own Enfield. Never tried wood working before but will give it a try this week. Hopefully it turns out half as nice as yours.

Regards,
Jonathan

Good for you best way to learn IMO my only advice is sharp tools make life better and make sure to build exactly what you want, no compromise is worth it when building for yourself

Also, here is a thread I started when I made my original stock

I like it, though to my eye it would look better with the toe dropping a little more to keep in flow with the shape of the rifle. Maybe an extra two or three inches lower, with a curving underside to meet the bottom of the grip.

Amazing work, regardless. I should bug you for a full military replacement stock for a Mosin, but the cost would probably kill me. :p

I ordered one from Bob as I do think they are great and I am not going to mess with the original stock of the No4 I am using.

I tried to use a lace-up add on but it just isn't good enough so this is the way to go.

I can hardly wait to get it!

I used a S&K no drill mount and other than having to shim the front a few thou. it fits perfectly. Luckily I was able to get the mount at a decent price from one of the owners of the gun shop where I live. He had another brand but told me the S&K was the best way to go.
