New straight pull from Mauser

I like the straight pull. It looks cool. What isn't cool is what happens if the round is an over pressured charge. I don't know much about the design of this straight pull rifle but I'm very curious about the safety. The video shows the man pulling the bolt all the way up to about a centimeter from his right eye.

The attachment at the end of the muzzle isn't available in Canada would have been nice if he shot it without one. Mind you I did not see the entire video since I only had time for the first 30 seconds.

Actually reasonably priced. Not sure if anyone commenting watched the video? Is the k31 comparison because of the two massive locking lugs, or just total ignorance of the existence of the many modern straight pulls?

There are some similarities to the blaser, but the locking lugs seem very different?

I know it comes as a shock to some, but mauser has been producing modern rifle designs for decades now. We all like 98s but it the "old man yells at cloud" energy is a bit stifling. Its like saying that anything that isn't a model t is not a Ford...

The 7lb composite model at 1600 euro I intriguing

I've owned the Blaser R93 and the R8. I truly don't like the cocking system and barrels are very expensive. My preference is the good ole turn-bolt. I did own the Blaser S2 and sold it........I'm still kicking my butt today for doing so. As for the Mauser 25, down-right fugly!!!

I don’t care how it looks like, I don’t care of the brand, but if you watch the video you will see that is has nothing to do with any other straight pull I know off( the marral is assisted so not the same ) this think is fast, smooth, feed and eject flawlessly, is fairly light and come in a few different layout and it shoots!
Price wise, like Conor mentioned is a fraction of blaser and most of the good straight pull!
You can ##### as much as you want, in the straight pull style it is a nice one mechanically wise!!

I don't see any major difference between this and other straight pulls and I watched the video... looks like a blaser with different lug arrangement

Outside it looks like blaser but inside is different and it seams a lot smoother/faster too. That said I’m just comparing reviews here since I never had one in my hands!
So you are most likely right!

The operation seems equivalent to a blaser, fast and smooth is kind of their thing.

Major differences seem to be the ejectors and locking lugs. I'd really like to see a breakdown on the bolt from someone who doesn't say things like " many people will never remove the bolt from their rifle" lol

Actually a side by side comparison/take apart deep into the core of them would reveal everything we need to know !

Looks fun. It's definitely a different design than the M1996 (Made by Roessler I think). I had one of those and it was a bit cheesy / cheap feeling.

Humans seem to paint themselves into the corner, we are Hypocrites, including myself. "Why the need" for a faster action straigt-pull bolt"? Between my son and I, we have killed around 450 big game animals, 99% were with the first shot.

Marketing does wonders how they influence the feeble minded, kind of like a liberal listening to Trudeau or Carney. The marketing of how fast the straight-pull operates is that, marketing. There is no need to have a fast action rifle, except for the others who have poor hunting skills and marksmenship.

They are designed for shooting multiple running game animals being chased by beaters or dogs. Not accompanying you and your son on deer hunts

Some people are ignorant of other hunting practices or game, never mind Europe but between provinces. 450 big game animals indeed lol. Running deer and coyotes with dogs is very common in Ontario

My understanding is in Ontario they favour the Mennonite machine gun and lever actions instead of straight pulls :p

I have seen a few videos of Italians using lever guns on battue
