Hi guys
I just received my svt 40 from Tradex, thank you guys, and bought some Russian 185 gr. bullets for it. are these correct for the gun, and will the sight elivator work with this grain?
Thanks

148 grain is what the Russians used since 1908. Dragunov is 152 grain. So probably not.
You would have to have roughly the same BC and velocity for the sights to work at all ranges.

Correct. Even the 147 gr Marstar sells would probably be more suitable.

There was a post on this a few months ago I believe. I think the jist of it was that the heavier bullet put additional stress on the gas system which in turn *could* lead to failure.

Just start your shooting on the lowest gas setting and work your way up until it cycles as it should to ensure you're not overloading the system.

Just try not to make it a habbit of ordering the heavier stuff - leave those heavy shots for your moist nugget.

I was wondering the same question about the bullet. Where to buy non-corosive light ball ammo ? Witch ammo do you use for your rifle ?
