New Swiss firearms book coming in September.

I already have 3 different Headstamp Publishing books (Soviet Small Arms of WW2, American Small Arms of WW2, and NATO Battle Rifles). I have preordered this book and am interested to see how it stacks up to the nice publications I already have

How's that? They had a handful of designs, one factory, and their guns saw no usage in wars. There is not much interesting information there.
Variety of variations, tons of development, lots of politics.

Usage in wars doesn’t equal tons of history on a particular firearm. I have a book on Argentine Mausers that is almost 300 pages long and that is a sub variant of a major action, not even the major actions themselves.

The Webster book or another one?

Colin Websters. The part I found most interesting was actually the politics and procurement process, particularly on the 1891 Mauser.

Can’t have enough good sources on this stuff. Saved me from making mistakes a few times and allowed me to identify things I wouldn’t have been able to on my own (the internet is becoming a worse and worse reference thanks to AI).

Sadly, half of the subject matter is now banned here so a good book with reference photos will be all that is left for us to drool over.
