Looking into new gun stock for Sako 85...
Regardless of the make and the model of the gun, I would like to hear some pros and cons and of course models and makes of the stocks out there...
Looking into synthetic stock for sheep and elk hunting rig.
Thank you and apologies if this was already discussed but it is never too much of a good gun talk...

McMillan edge in Sako Hunter pattern is the best option for the 85. Lightweight and extremely durable. I currently have 4 of them, and have had about 8 other ones, top notch.

Is your current stock wood or synthetic?

Laminated one...liked it so far until I started carrying it around.
Would like to get something that is comfortable to shoot and light enough to carry around...
Was thinking to get thumbhole one but dont know what is available out there

Why not just sell the rifle and buy another more suited to your needs? A new McM Edge in Canada will get close to $1k. Probably around $800 for std fill.

Buddy of mine got MPI ambidextrous one and it was smooth and light stock to carry, shoot and use.
I am really looking into hunting version models, not really into big and bulky tactical ones.
Does anyone can recommend any good carbon fibre stock manufacturers whether thumbhole or standard, would like to know what is out there...
