Hi guys,
I'm sorry as this type of post must be a dime a dozen but I'm looking for some advice on setting up some new rigs.
I currently have my mind set on a savage 110ba in .338 LM unless someone can propose a similar "large caliber" system in the same price range. I'm looking to set it up with a NF 5.5-22 sometime this summer. Any advice on choosing either the reticle NP-R1 or MIL-DOT?
My main dilema is for a tactical magfed .308 and I'm on the fence between 2 options (I've considered rem700, Cz750 and such).
1. Savage 10bas: confortable pistolgrip stock even if cheek piece isn't the best out there, decent trigger, decent accuracy and not too expensive.
2. Tikka T3 tactical: crisper trigger, it's basically a sako so can't go too wrong, cheap stock that would need to be replaced with a thumbhole model at minimum (extra $).
I'd like to keep in the same price range since I want to get both the short (replace my current) and medium capabilities short term.
I do about 50% range (100-300) and 50% improvised multi distance shooting (100-800). I'm a decent shot who regularly shoots around 1/4-1/2MOA (100yrds) if system permits.
I'm definately an accuracy fan and would even consider sacrificing one of the 2 to get an extraordinary system for combined price if i have to (ie. TRG and such).
Thanks for sharing your experience with systems that might be exactly what I'm looking for.
