Just picked up a .410 Tamer 2 days ago and took it to the range yesterday. Neat, handy little shotgun, but had a couple of minor 'issues'.
Out of the box, the receiver was VERY stiff, and to close it on a live shell and have it lock was tough- you really had to snap it shut, and it might look like it was locked, but it wasn't. A few tries would be needed to not have it hinge open on its own.
We shot 10 slugs and a box of #6 3" shells through it. Towards the end, I noticed that it would lock tight on closing, but after firing, the thing had started to open- it would be hinged open about 1/8".
Looking on the H&R website, it seems there's only one place for factory repairs on their stuff in Canada, and it's in Quebec. I don't want to send any gun of mine there. I could see if the dealer will refund or replace it, but if anyone out there knows of a simple fix for this (I was thinking a little filing/sanding of the action to let it close a little more might be all that's needed, and I'm sure I can handle that).
Ideas, thoughts?
