I bought a .223 Tikka a few months ago and immediately ordered a McMillan stock through Tod Bartell for it. The stock finally showed up and I just put it on the rifle. It's pretty slick. It's got a Vortex Razor 5-20x50 and a Magpul bipod. I've only run a few rounds of bulk Federal 55gr through it to get the scope on target. I've got thousands of Federal .223 cases and I was considering handloading for it but then I recalled how much I hate picking up teeny little slippery bullets and I spend more than enough time making ammo for other guns so I think I'm going to just use some good factory ammo with it. I was recently made aware of the Hornady steel case 75gr BTHP and I'm definitely going to give that a try, as well ans the Hornady Black Rifle 75gr. Both selections are very reasonably priced for good ammo.

Nice rifle!

If you’re going to shoot factory ammo I’ve found that Federal makes a varmint offering using Nosler 55gr. BT that seems to shoot well in both fast and slow twist barrels....not super expensive either.

Nice rifle! I love those Tikka CTR rifles, such a great system for a very reasonable cost. I have a Tikka CTR in a McMillan stock as well, mine is the A3 in the carbon arctic ambush colour, and has a Benchmark barrel, chambered in 6XC. Inletting was drop in perfect and I have plans to bed the action but accuracy has been right at 1/2 MOA so it has slid down the priority scale for now.

I have a T3x Varmint in .223. It shoots the Hornady steel 75 gr very well. Well, at least I'm happy with it.
If you're into lighter triggers beyond what factory adjustments can give, try Yo-Dave spring a try.

Got it to the range today, been too busy with other guns....Anyway- the steel case ammo hasn't shown up yet, but I have some of the Hornady brass case stuff with the same bullet. I had previously got the scope on paper using a few Federal American Eagle bulk 55gr ammo, but that was with the original, factory stock. At 100 yards, I took a shot with the AE stuff to double check it's still on paper, then switched to the Hornady Black ammo.

Shot a group, adjusted a bit, shot another, then since I only had put up the one target I aimed for the corner of the target and shot a nice .6 MOA 5 round group. I guess the barrel broke in. :) Trigger is okay, I might like it a little lighter, but it's not bad.

Forgot my power pack for the Labradar, so didn't get any velocity readings, that's next, and then to stretch it out a bit. :)

Fantastic rifle - try the 73gr ELDM factory ammo if you're wanting to stretch it out to 800Y, handloads with the 75gr ELDM will do 900Y no problem
