So guy, i've been thinking about doing some of these "action shooting" games, but as far as i know actions shooting = you run for 100m (or w/e) pick up a gun and shoot at moving (or pop up) targets, is that a correct assumption? Also can anyone gives me a head up on what IPSC, IDPA, etc. stands for? Also what is the category or event should i be looking for if i wanted to do something with black rifles?

thanks in advance

No.

The category for a black rifle might be either service conditions, tactical rifle, or three gun (AKA 3-gun).

But if you like running...

For some reason you forgot Cowboy Action Shooting (the original three gun match) from the list. :D
