My first AR15 is on it's way. I have 5/20 Pmags being shipped with it but I want GOOD 10rd pistol mags (not the crappy ones I've been reading about that you have to file and mess with to function properly). Any error free mags you can recommend for me to buy in the future? If I know exactly which ones are the best I can hopefully find or get on a waiting list for them (last resort - look on the EE for some :HR:). I ordered a S&W m&p15 if that makes a difference.

Thanks.

The one's I've purchased from Questar have work flawlessly for me. Not one problem so far with hundreds of rounds being used. They are light gray mag with gray followers.

How's that friend? ST said he's new to the platform, maybe he doesn't yet know about other "fun" mag options for the AR15

Brand new, I know very little. Never heard of a Beowulf mag. Think I read a short story about Beowulf though

This is why I'm asking, as I know nothing about the platform. Take'r easy fellas.

I run XCR pistol mags in my AR's. Thay have worked flawlessly for me. Wolverine Supplies just got several hundred of them delivered today and should be available for sale next week sometime.

As someone who knows a few things the general public may not about the future of magazines in Canada, (no I can not say what it is) I would be very interested to know what the exact, EXACT, dimensions of a fully functional magazine would be, what needs to be filed down, and what could be improved on. If anyone feels like sharing some info with me that would be awesome. If not, I do in fact know how to use the search function. :p

I've had at least three different models of LAR15 10 round mags and they are not cosistent in quality among manufacturers. Personally, I'd wait for .50 Beowulf mags, but that's just my opinion.

I have six of the ASC New Britain CT magazines and they worked fine out of the box. My only modifications are to add a Ranger Plate and trim the back leg of the follower so the the magazine can hold a full ten rounds with the new floorplate.

I have some LAR-15 pistol mags from different sources. From personal experience the ones with the orange followers seem to be the best and most reliable. I think Canada Ammo and Wolverine sell those ones. There seemed to be a batch recently that just didn't feed well and had to be filed down to cycle reliably. Here is the difference:

Not saying that the ones with the followers like the one on the left won't function. I'm just saying I know of several people on here that have had problems with a certain batch of them. And I think more people have had luck with the mags with the orange followers, myself included.

Those were the ones I was reading about... needed work to be reliable.
