I Assembled my first muzzleloader from a kit 30 ish years ago. Was pretty easy. On a scale of 1-10 I would say it was a 2.
Then, I found a roundball mold, some scrap lead, and a thrift store hotplate. I cast up a bunch of roundballs and went target shooting.
And promptly forgot to put powder behind the ball. I then learned about pulling a lead ball from a barrel.
I made my own patches, and I think I still have some in a container around here somewhere.
I still pour my own boolits, and do it for my cartridge guns as well. Beats paying several dollars per round for factory when you can reload for much less.
It can be a fun and rewarding hobby that is enjoyable. When it isn't frustrating and driving you nuts.
