New to Canada: 963 MF Precision Tactical Revolver

On what basis do you compare? Have you shot the 963 MF? Do tell?

I didn't shoot the 963MF, I can't find a single review on it anywhere. The S&W 627 is all Stainless steel @ 47 oz & manufactured by the best gunsmiths in the S&W factory and has tons of positive reviews everywhere. The 963 is made in 7075 T651 alloy aluminum, featherweight for conceal carry and eventhough the craftmanship looks pretty good, it does smell Italian and shows some European caracter plus has a Lothar barrel (hense the price tag), I would'nt buy a gun that has no reviews. Would you?

If anyone buys one and lives in my area, I would gladly take a deeper look at it and get back to you with my feedback & observations.

... I would'nt buy a gun that has no reviews. Would you?...

Sure. I discount what most people say anyway because half the people don't know what they are talking about and/or they just spew BS because they like spouting off... and I then discount it again...because for the other half, it is only their opinion, and I might feel otherwise. So the lack of reviews does not affect me too much in terms of a purchase decision. If I get soemthing and find I don't like it and or don't want to keep it, I can always sell it off at a discount or give it to my brother. It is not like positive reviews will result in a sure winner that I am guaranteed to like. But I get your point.

I'm ready to order right now but see no mention of warranty on the Tactical Imports web page or the manufactures. What kind of warranty can we expect and what kind of after service can we expect from Tactical Imports and the manufacture in the event of a warranty claim? I don't want to be left sitting with a $2000 paper weight.

Also from what I'm reading these are ordered on an individual basis and shipped on an individual basis so no waiting for a batch order to be shipped? I see the hassle other dealers have getting Tanfoglio products out of Italy due to their export requirements and I don't want to be waiting 3-4 months for my revolver to show up.

1 year warranty, covered by us. We still do servicing after warranty as well.

We were told delivery would take aprox. 8 weeks.

Considering it is an aluminum alloy frame, don't know if I would want to shot it in 44. 6" barrel at 30oz is pretty light. Would be nice in 357 I'm sure.

I need a direct comparison report between these revolver and a S&W 627/R8/TRR8.

If these are better I would take the plunge, but I'm also curious as to the compatibility of these with commonly available speedloaders and what holsters will fit.

Dual release to get the cylinder open = massive FAIL.
The price tag is just icing on the fail cake.

Dual release is to prevent accidental cylinder opening during high stress scenarios. It is still very easy to open.

As for the price, going with higher grade materials and offering individualized finish schemes does cost more. Offering something built in Italy costs more. Keep in mind our CAD is very weak right now as well, we've had to increase the price of all the European offerings we had brought in previously as the dollar weakening was more than our profit margin.

Unfortunately Canadian demand did not meet min. requirements for 4.2" bbl model and this will not be available. Good news is that we have been able to keep the price reduction for 6" bbl model, $1799
