New to CGN, but not to Shooting Sports...

I figured after checking out CGN for awhile I should do the official introduction. Here is a longer intro than most, but truly only the highlights:

I love the outdoors, from hiking (urban to wilderness) to trying (if only once) things like skydiving and ice climbing. I have chosen to explore that love of the outdoors to include the shooting sports and the purchase of the tools to enjoy the sports as much as I can. I tend to be a quiet realist who asks lots of questions, not quick to agree with anything, willing to entertain the absurd... and somewhat opinionated :yingyang: (usually due to a lot of research and deep thought, however). The opinionated part can get me into 'hot water' when I don't explain the extensive way I came to that opinion, or when I am explaining something that goes against the socially engineered opinion. Oh, and you can blame the member M32A2 for bringing me to CGN!

My dad was not for or against shooting and hunting (in a kinda FUD way): he figures the ownership/use of shotguns and bolt actions will be forever. It was my mom that got me into shooting sports. As I have said in another post here, I was never allowed to point even fake guns at anyone as a kid, even if I was allowed to play with toy guns: mom took that one aspect seriously. Playing with guns wore off fast: I had use of a single shot 22LR by the age of 11.

I disagree with gun control, but here is where my 'opinionated' part comes in: OK, full automatics should be MONITORED, but most of the rest of gun control and registration is just wrong. I figure proper education and criminal control is not only more important, but right by my standards of common sense. Keep a strong PAL system and even some strong storage rules is fine by me, but I see nothing wrong with: hunting with an AR or variant, deer hunting with a Ruger .44 Magnum revolver and/or permits for experienced civilians to carry handguns for human life protection. In the end it is who (government) and why (human fear) we have gun control that bothers me the most.

Due to being the quiet and fairly private person that I am (met too many people brainwashed by the socially engineered opinion) I will only say that I like discussing many topics here on CGN, including: hunting, target shooting, ranges, large game hunting, bird/fowl hunting, bow hunting, dogs in hunting, varmint control, restricted firearms shooting, and many more. I find the individual history of military rifles the most intriguing... I wish I knew the history of my Enfield Fazkarkly No5Mk1: it must have a story to tell.

Thanks... Aniest.
