New to the forum. Just passed my pal and rpal in jan. Trying to do some research on what gun to buy.

Hello and Welcome from NE Ont. ! As to your question , start small as in a .22 , Bolt gun would be best to learn basic shooting skills , and reduce the chance of developing a flinch . Can then build , 22 auto (10/22 my personal favored} depending on your body size 12 ga or a 20 pump . Hunting and target shooting can call for different Calibers but that's for a different day ! Good luck with your journey into the addiction !

Welcome to the CGN from southern Ontario.
What type of shooting are you looking to get into? Hunting or target shooting , can't go wrong with a nice 22 rim fire and a 12 gauge pump is a good choice but the world is your oyster when it comes to gun choices.
Let us know what you end up choosing šŸ‘šŸ¼

Welcome and congrats!
I also recommend a good 22lr bolt action. I'm a Cz fan so that's what I'd look at. You won't regret the extra cash on a quality 22. Last forever, cheap and fun to shoot for all ages, barrels last forever and a day etc
Cheers
