I am quite new to guns and related things, but want to get more into it. I don't currently own my own firearm as I am very undecided as to what I should get. The majority of my shooting will be skeet and trap, but the occassional hunt will be happening once a year for a couple of days.

I would like to have a few guns to shoot with but don't know really where to start except posting it here.

Like everyone out there I would like the best for the least....I don't even know what is a respectable price for an entry level skeet and trap gun or even if it should be manual repeating; break action over under or what.

Any help and advice would be greating appreciated.

For a small cal. the Ruger .22 LR autoloading was recommended....I think I will check that out as it can be shot in indoor ranges as well....

Thanks again!

Where are you, first of all? I'm sure we can find somebody that you can hook up with to take you out for trap/skeet and you can try a few gun types. Depending on what you get, you can use the same gun for hunting as well.

What kind of hunting?

How much do you have to spend?

How seriously do you wish to shoot clays?

Do you have any preferences?

What/how much have you shot before?

I assume you have your PAL already, right? And have taken a hunter safety course?

Answer a few more questions, or tell us more about your wishes, and we can help you better.

Well I guess first of all you need to get a PAL by taking the course or challanging the exam. Next depending on where you live and what kind of hunting you will be doing a decision can be made as to what kind of shotgun. For trap, skeet and hunting I would suggest either a auto loader like an Rem. 1100 or a pump model. You should look for one with choke tubes so that your hunting and sporting can be accomadated.
