I came across a deal on a used F-3 Vantage that I couldn't pass up. The gun shows no wear and no marks, has the optional supersport stock, came with four Muller stainless chokes, and I was able to purchase it for half the price of a new Vantage. The stock did not fit, but after some sanding to lower the comb it fits great now. A few coats of boiled linseed oil on the comb, and I hope to shoot it in a few days.

I suspect you're going to like it. I have shot an F3 Competition and it was a very high quality piece. My son fell in love with the F16 he handled at SHOT and now he's saving for one. Looking forward to your range report .

My fingers are sore today from sanding as I took about 3/16" off of the comb, all by hand yesterday. I just light sanded and applied a second coat of boiled linseed oil to the comb. It's a shame how the new distribution set up for Canada has driven up Blaser prices, I am thinking that adding about $2000 to the price of an F-3 will hurt Blaser sales. Even the F-16 appears costs about $1000 more than they did a few months ago.

Nice gun.

I've handled a few Blasers and it would be on the list of shotguns I'd consider. I like how they felt more Beretta like vs Browning. Not saying one is better than the other, but I have preferences.

I like the narrow fore end, and how quick it swings with 32" barrels. With all balance weights removed, it balances on the hinge pin.

It was snowing today, but we shot skeet anyways. Had a rough start with a 22, then two 24s, and a 24 at doubles. Given the visibility, I was not too disappointed. The gun swung smooth, much more lively than my 725 Sporting, the 32" barrels worked well for doubles. . The triggers are excellent, and despite only having a thin rubber pad, the recoil was very mild. No pierced primers using Kent target loads. Overall, I was very impressed with the gun.

Are the Kent target loads known for pierced primers? Have you tried thee new Elite?

Some people have complained about issues with both Challenger and Kent loads and pierced primers, but I haven't seen any myself. I am in the process of sourcing a supply of the new Kent loads now. I like the mild recoil of the 1 ounce loads, and they seem to break targets very well. I usually shoot skeet with a 28 or 410, and the 12 gauge was crushing the clays.

I bought a new O/U a few years ago and it was piercing them fairly regularly before I had the pins shortened. All I shoot is Kent’s and the 6 or 8 other guns I have used have never had a problem.

As far as the Elites go. I am not sure they have really hit the market yet.
