Finally got out to the range with my new-to-me PreB 75. Nothing but problems :(

First issues where that neither of the two included mags would stay seated. Every second or third shot they would drop out. The mag catch holes are quite different on both of them, but neither will stay put.

Second...out of the 10 rounds I shot before giving up and heading home, 3 FTEs. 1 was a stovepipe with CCI Blazer (brass) 115FMJ, and two others that had brass stuck in the chamber that required a royal tug on the slide to get free, both with the CCI and some S&B. The gun is nice and clean, so I'm a bit baffled on this one. I've heard the ejector springs can be somewhat of an issue on these, so I guess that is a cheap and easy thing to try.

I planned to pick up a new set of mags, as soon as I can figure out *where* to get them from :)

Some pics of the mags in question...the followers are different on both as well, but I don't think that would be contributing to either issue.

Anything else I should be checking?

I have the same issues. There is a least one jam/ 10 round, first i though is the mag but I took my friend's mag with different ammo same thing happen, so i end up order a set of extractor spring hope it works.

Sounds like you bought someones headache! CZ's are normally very reliable. Those are not stock mags and I'd replace them. CRAFM is still stocking CZ parts I believe. Bad mags can give you all sorts of problems, think I'd start there. The way your one mag is so much different then the other makes me wonder if someone else was fooling around with it!!!

Something does not look right with those mags. Do you have access to Mec-Gar magazines? Mec-Gars are the only aftermarket mags I buy for my cZs as they make original mags for cZ.

As stated before, I would get rid of those mags, and try to find one in good shape for that model and start from there. If that does not work, then I would move up from there...Looks like the person you bought from decided to include some cheap mags with the pistol...So, unless you got a great deal for that package I would be returning it to the previous owner.

"...3 FTEs..." Either an ejection or extraction issue is not caused by the mag. Mags can be the cause of feeding issues though.
"...holes are quite different..." They factory mags? Aftermarket mags will do that. Your mags look like they're not for the same pistol. One's too short for sure. CCI Blazer ammo isn't great stuff, but should function fine. I suspect Smiley1 has your best solution. Buy new mags for CZ.

You can't make it out in the first photo, but the top mag is actually a MecGar and is stamped as a CZ75 mag. I'm going to snag at least 1 new CZ mag and giv'er a shot. From what I've read, sounds like a good cleaning under the extractor might be in order, and a Wolff extractor spring is only a couple of bucks. I hate to give up on this one as I've spent a while looking for a nice Pre-B...and this one is in great shape, as least cosmetically :p

I'll check with CRAFM and see what they have for mags...looks like Brant and Northern Rep Magazine are also listing CZ branded mags as in stock.

I'll keep you posted as to how things work out :)

I have two CZ's on which I had extraction and feeding issues and I fixed both problem on both gun the same way. The first is to replace the extractor by the CZ spare parts, they have the noze thinner than the original one. About the feeding problem, using a dremel, cotton Wheel a d polishing coumpond, you have to polish the feed ramp, the chamber and the face of the slide that push the fresh round in the chamber and your gun will work as it supposed. About the mag, make sure you have the right one

New CZ mag and extractor&spring arrived today...mag fits great, and doesn't seem to have any of the issues that the other two had...seems to be locked in there solid. I'm going to swap the extractor bits out tonite, and maybe get out to the range on the weekend.

Just follow up, I apparently suck at knocking out that extractor pins...broke two good punches and two cheap crappy ones. Discovered after the fact that the secret is to use a short 'starter punch'...oh well, lesson learned. Decided to cut my losses and send the pistol back for the seller to deal with.

It arrived back last week with the new extractor and spring installed, and now shoots like a million bucks. Dumps brass into a nice neat pile about two feet to my right, and is more accurate than I am. Looking forward to spending much more time with it, as it is an absolute pleasure to shoot :)
