Picked up an M14S.308 Norinco today from a buddy of mine. He bought the rifle new a few years ago, not sure how many years ago?
Says Made in China SFLO.MI. Not sure what that means? Has 2007 stamped in a seperate area.
Would appreciate if someone could give me some history on this rifle.
This rifle came with the chu wood stock. My buddy had to clean the cosmoline from the rifle and he says he had to clean it repeatedly to get it out of the stock. The stock was very uneven in color so am trying to clean it, will have to strip it from the looks of it.
Surprised at the accuracy though, shot 20 rounds of "Igman" 150 gr lead tipped bullets from Bosnia, not even sure where I got these from. 5 rounds in 2.98 inches and 10 rounds in 3.53 inches, open sights/my eyes/ damn cold (-10 C) This rifle only had 5 rounds through it before today.
Can see where some machining marks in the action need to be cleaned up/ smoothed out. Any advise on this? Don't want to lossen up the action but when I see areas where the action moves over rough surfaces it makes me crazy!! Mostly the bolt and action bar surfaces on the reciever seem to be a little rough.
