On the weekend I picked up a 43 pu sniper. I have one question about the scope. On the windage dial it needs to be on the 10 for the post to be centred in the scope. I probably won't use that dial anyway but is there a way to change it so its centred when on the 0. I don't have it in front of me but I think it's on the -10 if that matters to anyone. I will try to get some pictures up tonight if I can clean it up. Also is there any other way to tell where it was made? The receiver stamp I can barely make out 43r and can see the serial number but nothing else is visible

We can provide all the information you need about the rifle but we need photos. Top of barrel/receiver, left and right side of receiver, etc the more detail the better. It could be an ex-sniper restoration, a fake sniper, a MOLOT or one of the new Tulsky imports.
 
I actually just went down this road with mine. What you will need to do is grind or shim the rear pat of the mount to get it centred. I bore sighted mine in the house and got it damn close was printing 6 inches right at 100m after I was done, so I shimmed with half a piece of cardboard tag to bring it to the middle. If its printing to the left you grind a bit off and try again. Paper thin shims can mean several inches at range so it's a carefull process.
 
Ok ignore my scope question. It wasn't really a sighting in issue i just thought the post was off centre when the dial was on zero but i was looking at the stopper and not the line marked on it. I took pictures but now i gotta figure out how to get them on here

It's very easy to setup elevation turrets - loose at half turn 2 big screws at the turret, after this windage rim with digits will rotate separately from adjustment turret. Just center rim to 0, and lock 2 screws. All actions will not impact to the position of the reticle

According to manual reticle must be at the visual center of the field of view when distance turret is set to 9, windage - 0
 
Got this at Canadian Tire

I took it shooting and it didn't group very well but i realized the scope came loose on me so ill have to try again one of these days. Also when i shot my hand guard would slide forward. must not be a matching top guard because the rear band won't go all the back on the bottom and it isn't getting held in place tight enough. Woyld anybody recommend sanding it down on top so it stays together? I hate to do something like that but also want it functional

I see what you mean by the top hand guard not matching. They did have a green tub of take off stocks and hand guards by the counter. Perhaps they can find one that would allow the rear band to snap in place.

Looks like a nice gun. My scope came loose the first couple of shots too. It needs a screwdriver even though it is a thumb screw.
