After much debate, I elected to add a Mosin Nagant 91/30 to my "Red Rifle Collection". However it didn't come with any of the standard accessories. Just wondering if there is a Canadian retailer who sells (and has them in stock) all three of the following: Mosin Multi Tool, Mosin Slings, and Mosin Bayonets.

That's not an authentic sling, it's just one that was on it when I bought it. So planning to pick up an actual sling.

Thanks again.

Pics are added above. :)

Westrifle has the sling and bayo:

He usually has the tool, as well. Not listed at the moment, but that doesn't always mean he's completely out. Drop him a note - he's around the forums a fair bit, and does a good job looking after his customers.
I just sent a PM to westrifle. Hopefully he'll get back to me with a positive answer. :)

Be very careful with that...they have the oddest habit of multiplying like rabbits when you aren't looking..

They've already started multiplying, this is my second Red (SVT was my first). And I have plans for many more as soon as I finish school and get a real job. I think my next purchase (excluding ammo) will be a Tokarev TT-33 and/or a bayonet for my SVT, but we'll see.

Really nice looking rifle. Welcome to the club. Dont read into mosins unless you want to start a habit.

The habit has already started. I've been reading into them since last January, when I decided to finally buy myself a rifle. Ended up buying the above mentioned SVT, but I really wanted a bolt action too. Was going to buy a M38 originally, but the deal I got on this one was too good to pass up.

The rifle overall is pretty good. There is normal wear and tear on the stock for the most part, but there are a couple dings that look like someone decided to hammer in nails with the stock or something. The upper hand guard has no finish whatsoever, so I may need to finish it eventually. As for the barrel, there is so wear on the rifling, but they still seem fairly sharp, and it looks fairly shiny. Bolt is really stiff going down when chambering my snapcap, hopefully live rounds will be easier. I'll update (if I remember) after I take it to the range next weekend.

Corwin-Arms has some of the bayonets in stock - ones that were refurbed in Poland after the war. If it's a choice between a TT33 and an SVT bayonet for short term financial reasons, get the bayonet first. This is actually a rare moment when the bayos are available at all - they're FAR less common than the rifles. Before Martin brought in this batch, you'd be lucky to find one anywhere, and not for less than $250.

Once that batch is gone, who knows when the next decent sized batch will come in. Martin had to wrestle with the Polish ministry of culture for something like 6 months to get the export permits for the ones he has.

Just got my first one too!! shot it last weekend, what a blast and pretty accurate . mine is all matching numbers, (I think is a 1934) in as new condition. But came with no extras. Just the poor lonely gun.......Good thing I have 2 sks's to keep it company.
Have fun and get it out shooting, they are cheap to shoot, and a blast, bring a friend. LOTS of fun.
Cheers

So I have the range report. I only managed to get out near dusk, so I was only able to shoot at 50 meters. Picture of 25 rounds is below.

The vertical spread is mostly my fault. I haven't quite mastered these sights yet, so blame that on me as well as the one bottom left.
So the sights need a little adjustment. I tried to do it at the range, but i just couldn't get the leverage required to move the front sight. Hopefully I'll be able to put it in a vise in the next little while and give the front sight a few good smacks with a hammer and punch.
Any helpful insight you guys have is greatly appreciated.

Hello
I am new to the forum. I would also like to get a Mosin. I'm considering West Rifle but it seems odd to order it over the internet based on a photo. I've only read good things about West Rifle but it still seems odd. Has anyone ever had a negative experience by ordering from them?

Thanks
Jeff

Take the plunge. You won't be disappointed with either West rifle or Corwin. If condition is your concern just ask for a hand select

I was just going to have an SKS for a toy.
A Mosin, SVT, SKS and TT33 later I am looking for more Red guns.
Anyone know of a shotgun?

Don't know of any surplus Russian shotguns, but Baikal makes some nice commercial shotguns. Hard to get right now because of the export restrictions. The few dealers in Canada that had any, have run out of them in a hurry.

Stupid Putin muckin' about in the Ukraine and totally screwin' up our boomstick imports.

Finally managed to get out and adjust my sights. The results are below...The 5 circled 30 cal holes were my first 5 shots to figure out home much movement was needed in the sight, and the other 2 circled were holes my buddy accidentally put in it with his .22. The uncircled holes were the result after adjustment. These shots were all taken at 50 yards, but I'm pleased to say that 100 and 200 yards I was able to hit the 1 square foot gong with some consistency after the adjustment. After adjustment all the misses were my fault not the rifles :)

Thanks again everyone.

Wonderful old relic of a rifle. I use mine every season for early deer. They seem to fall over dead just from the sight of it.
