just acquired this fine rifle. Absolutely gorgeous . About as old as my classic trumpet, but looks way nicer. Think I better get a hunting licence. Any tips or advice appreciated .

Sweet!
I'd seriously look at reloading as you have the most versatile cartridge ever made.
Plus reloading is just plain f uckin awesome.
Cheers

To keep it in top condition for storage. To protect the wood and metal, what is the advice . Rifle sock? Lubricant ?
I use rifle socks my self, I also put a light film of oil on the metal and a good past wax on the wood.

Ok. I have mold release wax. I can use that on the wood. Light gun oil on the metal.
I don’t know about the wax, I would try to use a furniture wax… or you can use a furniture oil on the wood. Odie’s oil is great!

I've been using Howards Feed and Wax for years. Prophet River and Canadian Tire sells this wonderful product. Plus I do place gun socks on all my wood rifles, not synthetic.
