Unless I am mistaken, the "43" indicates that 7.62x39 was designed and first produced in 1943.

could you post close up pics of the bolt and carrier ? does the carrier serial number match?

is the barrel non-chrome or chrome ?

The 43 in the 7.62x43 designates that it is model M43 ammunition or 7.62x39.

Actually, the spring-loaded firing pin is safer if you shoot ammo with soft primers.

But your rifle probably has a nice new chrome lined refurb barrel anyways. That will come in handy with that corrosive Czech M43.

I just got my refurbed 1950 Tula from Lever Arms, and is has the non chrome lined barrel (as well as the spring loaded firing pin). Check if yours is the same, and if so be extremely vigilant in your cleaning after firing that corrosive ammo, or you will be left with a rust clogged bore.
