Hello Every One
I bought a M305 several years ago and have shot it very little as I’m a simple sort of fellow that enjoys a simple bolt rifle. I have little knowledge of firearms compared to most but by no means know nothing about firearms so I thought I would ask here about the Norinco M305 before seeking out and most likely bothering a rifle smith with simple questions. Recently I decided to finish what I set out to do and finish off this rifle. I beaded the rifle in a USGI fibreglass stock, added a beautiful billet operating spring guide, new operating rod spring, shimmed the gas block, added a cheek rest, vented hand guard, ARMS Mount with throw lever scope rings and a Falcon 4X18X56 illuminated scope. I have only put about three hundred rounds of Fusion 150 gr. Ammo through it so far. The rifle is fun to shoot and at 200 meters I can hit the 3” gong all day but on paper the groups are about 3” to 4” at 200 meters. Another issue I have is brass getting caught between the scope mount and operating rod. So what would you CGN brother and sisters recommend improving the accuracy and solving the ejection issue? Is there a good reload formula I can use? Is there a way to tune the trigger? Have I done as much as a simpleton can do and now its time to send it to a professional? Thanks in advance for the answers and best regards.

For both the brass catching, trigger tuning and any other work you can turn to M14 Doctor he is in BC and does very nice work. I have heard the ejector and extractor springs sometimes need adjustment to change the ejection angle when using an arms18. Some of the other guys here can explain it better as I dont scope my M14 type rifles.

Thanks J996. I sent a P.M. to M14Doc (have my fingers crossed for a reply) and read allot of his posts and he seems like a good recommendation...I know Rick at ATR will help me out if I need (always does) but I'm sure he is quite busy. Some ideas I was throwing around were to have the barrel shortened, a different muzzle break installed, Navy (Gas lock H&K type front site) installed, M1 Garand Rear Site Installed and the trigger tuned if even possible. Would I be wasting my time trying to get better accuracy out of a Norinco M305? Anyone have an idea how to solve the ejection issue without a gunsmith? Any input to improve the accuracy is greatly appreciated.

Ejection issue is a problem with the arms mount. Talk to m14doctor, he can trim your bolt springs to change the ejection trajectory and minimize the jamming.

Yup other work as well. Barrel shortening, muzzle break, unitize gas system, front site mount to gas block and trigger tune. I really look forward to shooting when it gets back.
