Hi. I'm new to this reloading business, and have decided after much coaxing by a friend to start. He currently reloads .308 for a stevens 200, but as I've often been told, every make/model rifle is different. What works well for his savage, may not work well for my browning. I've seen many combinations of reloads on CGN, but not sure where to start. My buddy currently reloads with 175Gr Sierra MatchKing bullets, winchester brass, CCI primers (I think) & H4895, not sure the exact amount. I've noticed that a lot of people seem to use varget powder also, but i haven't seen a whole lot of talk about the sierra matchking bullets. I'm mainly wondering on where I should get started as far as bullet weight, grade, and powders, and what I should try working up to? I would consider my buddy an amateur re loader, not near as knowledgeable a lot of the members i see on CGN, so I guess I'm not looking for any top-secret recipe(unless it's offered!), just a little guidance on .308(Browning X bolt) & possibly .223(savage axis). Thanks!
