New to reloading - Lake City or IVI?

Hi,

With the dearth of 7.62.51 surplus ammo, I am considering reloading ammo for my Polytech m305. Before investing in equipment and supplies, I thought I'd start stocking up on brass. Both brands are available and I'm not sure which one I should get or if either makes a difference.

Any suggestion would be appreciated. Thanks.

lake city is good brass to reload but the ivi is junk as it splits on the first factory firing, toss this brass into the junk pail and sell it for scrap metal as brass prices are up.

Both are excellent, but try to find out if it has been shot in a rifle or a machine gune. machine gun brass is now oversize and a ##### to re-size.

Not my experience with IVI 7.62x51. I've got a whole ice cream pail full of resized and trimmer IVI ready to reload. I'll admit it was a ##### to resize after firing through my Norinco m14, but no splits.

i have had good luck with ivi stuff, on reload number 5 for a lot i have, all through a m14 aswell

I used IVI 308 brass for years, sold a few thousand on the EE with no complaints from anyone. I also use LC-69 in 30/06. Love it.
