Hi. I’m looking for a scope for target on a 22. If you guys could give me some pointers I’d really appreciate it.
Whats a good scope for target that is affordable and keep me from wanting to upgrade. The gun I’m looking at is a CIL 125.
Thanks in advance.

hello....I think this would be a decent one for your application.

Vortex Crossfire II 2-7x32 Rimfire.

Not too familiar with the CIL 125 so IDK if this one would be the right fitment due to size (proper ring height would be key here) . If the receiver has dovetail grooves which I suspect, you can get an inexpensive rail that bolts onto dovetail grooves.

I mean there are so many options out there however and not knowing your budget, for around 220 bucks your getting a decent scope that you won't need to upgrade for a while if ever.

welcome
Spend some time looking at various brands to get an idea of what's out there.
Dozens of options for every budget and need
Cheers

A lot depends on 'what' YOU consider "target shooting". Do you expect to shoot under 1" at 50-yds or 1.5"-ish at 100 yds ? Or just 'targets' like spinners or 'tree'. Rules of thumb would be 1) Buy what you can afford and 2) "Aim Small - Hit Small" meaning the 'finer you can 'see/aim' the better your 'hits' will be.
Your CIL rifle should be capable of 'under 1" at 50' IF you have a good scope. That can start at just a couple hundred dollars and go 'Up from There' . . . FYI, for my target shooting I use a $700-ish Athlon 8-34x56 FFP scope. This is sufficient for my use and I 'often' shoot my CZ-VMTR 22LR at 50 & 100 yds to the above group sizes. But I also have a 6-24x50 FFP scope that is 'almost as good', and only cost ca $400. I choose to Not spend more but there are still 'budget friendly scopes' in all price ranges. I'd suggest you talk to your shooting friends to get some suggestions in all price ranges.

$600 is the real sweet spot on used scopes
I like the Diamondbacks. Amazing dealio for $250
I like 6-9x minimum on 22's, and 16x-24x are super nice to help spot impacts on paper.
Big bushnell match pro fan right here. The discovery is also SUPER good for its price.

Please just save up another $50 and get a diamondback with a drop reticle. Remember, a scope is a purchase that can last a lifetime and usually sells for the same price in 5 years. Saving $50 now will cost you more than $50 in joy and ammo when you're looking through some #### glass trying to see impact marks.

Both Burris and Nikon have good quality scopes which you can find here on the ee if you take your time to find one in your budget. You will probably be much happier with a gently used scope than one from a box store. Most scopes come with a lifetime warranty so you can have confidence.
Just beware the Leupold’s made in China.

Scopes you can just go wild on for options and various degrees of quality. Me, I would want something with adjustable parallax and exposed turrets for target shooting. If you can find a Bushnell elite 3200 or more, they made some solid scopes with all of those features. Adjustable objective is just fine if you are on budget. Keep an eye on the equipment exchange, you might be able to score one for $200.00

I'm partial to Riton, consider the reticle. You said target shooting out to 100? then you want a fine reticle. Some duplex reticles will hide a bullseye at 100 yards. Dot reticles are nice as you can hold over/under depending on the range. Zero stop or centre zero can be handy but may be mor than you need. 3-9x is a good power range for a zoom on a .22 plinker. Not too heavy.
