Hey everybody!
I just joined the BRRC and a member told me about this site.
I have only target shot a handful of times when in Texas. DPMS Panther semi auto 308, Remington 700 308, Some .40 glocks, and Para Ordnance.

I don't own any guns and was recommended a Savage to start out rife practice so I have been googling and researching between that and Luger.

I've been looking at 1911 style pistols too.

See you at the range!

Hi. Have you done the PAL/RPAL courses yet?
Most Lugers are prohibited due to the barrel length. If you don't have a close family member who has a registered, pre-1946 made, standard Luger, you're out of luck. The Luger Artillery Model that isn't prohibited, are very expensive and not easy to find.

I did not know that. Even the 77/22 and 10/22's?

Edit: oh yes and I have my pal and restricted but no prohibited

BRRC REPRESENT!!!

Good to see another member, absorb all you can here, there's enough reading to keep you busy for years.

"...settled on a Savage Mark II..." Hi. That'll do nicely. Clean it before you shoot it. You will have to try a box of as many brands of ammo as you can to find the ammo it shoots best. The price of the ammo means nothing. .22's are just like that.
Lugers are 9mm pistols. Rugers can be a pistol or a rifle. The Ruger .22 Mk III resembles a Luger. Just restricted though.
