I just ordered my first AR lower today from Wolverine Supply (ya for me!!)(Wolverine has 2 left as of this morning if anyones interested) it was the Armalite brand Eagle 223 stripped lower for $179, a few other people on the boards have them and have posted some pics as well. I then ordered the parts kit, and am now trying to find the right stock and buffer tube.

I have a line on someone who will sell me their Magpul CTR, so let me understand this, all lowers are not equal, and as such their are 2 different kinds, ones threaded for mil-spec and ones threaded for commercial buffer tubes?

I just want to know if the COMMERCIAL magpul CTR stock this guy is selling me will fit onto my Armalite lower?

There is no difference between the thread, the difference is in the diameter of the tube itself after the threads. A receiver is a receiver, except for the Norinco receiver with metric threads.

It will fit.

I see now, so if I buy this guys Commercial size CTR stock, the only thing to be careful is that I buy a matching commercial buffer tube.

Or vice versa, a mil spec stock to a mil spec tube.

Thanks!!

Almost forgot, I'm gonna hijack my own thread and ask how difficult would it be to put a ambidextrous safety on my Armalite lower? I'm a lefty so it would be great to have a ambi safety. I have done a trigger job on my M&P pistol and have no problem dremeling things or tinkering like that.
