New to this

So i'm pretty new to all of this, just want to say Hi and get some advice. I am in the market for my first rifle but my problem is i just graduated college so i want something economical but with a bit of trust i can put behind it. If someone can give me some advice on this one or at least let me know a good store around (Hamilton, On) it would be greatly appreciated. thanks a lot

Welcome aboard!! :D
Al Simmons is in Hamilton, Lebaron's is in Mississauga.
A cheap but dependable deer rifle is a bigger window than you can imagine... esp. as you haven't defined "economical". But that won't stop us from making suggestions.
The first suggestion I'll make is to put a post in the hunting rifles forum (do an advanced search first, trying words like "deer", "first", newby(ie) etc.). Be specific about what you want it for, where you hunt (conditions and such), price range, do you have a preference for bolt action, or lever, auto... you get the idea.
To start you off, the Stevens modell 200 (under $350 brand new) gets good reviews, but you'll have to put a scope on it. In the same price range you can pick up a good used Marlin 336 or 30A in 30-30. A Winchester model 94 is in this group as well, again a 30-30 or .32 Winchester Special.
As you can see, this is just off the top of my head and not knowing what you're really after.
Try to get over to Al's or some place where you can get your hands on some guns and see what fits you.
Best of luck!! :)

Well im open to any suggestion really, bolt is probably what im looking for (affordablity is my main concern) i've been into al simmons once did not like the experience at all. The hunting conditions i will be hunting in is some bush lot over looking fields. preferably im looking for a package deal right now i can always upgrade the scope after i get a feel for the rifle. I just want to get aquainted with something over the summer so i'm familiar with it come deer season. This is a big step up for me i'm an archery hunter and have dabbled with my dads shot guns but my uncle invited me out this deer season so i figure its about time to man up buy a new boom boom stick

Savage and Remington both make affordable packages, with Savage probably being the better of the two.
A Stevens with a decent Tasco or Bushnell would probably be in the same league price wise.
If you've got time on your hands, drive up to Orillia and visit Elwood Epps. They've got one of just about everything, it seems. :dancingbanana: If you can, avoid the weekends, as they are very busy due to their pricing and customer service reputation.
Again, search the hunting and hunting rifle forums, and start a thread if you've still got unanswered questions.

Edit: Oh, and how could I forget? Sign up for the equipment exchange (e.e.) forum and check that out for some great deals as well (and save the taxes!).
