So i recently picked up my first VZ ( 5.56 ) rifle and i had a couple ( probably dumb ) questions.
First i noticed that when sliding the bolt forward slowly it hangs up about a half inch before fully closing.
When i took it apart i noticed two small dents

Is this normal? could this be why im getting a hang up?

Sorry if these are rookie questions but i'm just curious about this.

I've never had a .223 version, but my x39 versions never had that. Doesn't seem right.

We'll let someone else chime in to confirm.

Not going to lie: that looks off. I have a .223 shorty and my inner grooves are smooth. It looks like there's some extra wear behind the dents too?

Was your rifle new, or used? Do you have your CSA warranty card?

It's new, except for the few test rounds I fired. I even went to the store and took apart the display model and it didn't have the dents

I havnt noticed it messing with the function of the gun at all but kinda looks the same as his so I figure ill ask to see if anyone has the same markings. My glock has sone peening on it. Wondering if its the same type thing.

I hear improper heat treatment on the reciever can be an issue with Vz58s, I wonder if that's the case here?

Good question. Time will tell if it will affect its operation. I am going to the range this afternoon and firing 2-300 rounds to see if it gets worse ... I know I will feel better ...

Please update us after your trip if you dont mind. I just ordered a CSA and am curious if this is an isolated issues or a bigger QC problem.
