Here is my new toy for 2009, a Henry Golden Boy Deluxe Engraved. I have to say that I am really impressed. It comes with Fancy Walnut which is very eye catching and the ingraving is amazing.

I am not a good picture taker so here is the best I could do so far.

My only complaint is the carrier looks really worn and when you run your finger along it, it fells a tad rough. Hopefully that will work its way smooth after some use.

When I cycle my lever, it closes with a "Click". Is that normal for Henry's?

Yes it is. Unless mine's broken as well.:p Very pretty gun.

Emiled Anthony who is the President of Henry and he agreed that the carrier doesn't look right and is sending me a new part free of charge. Great customer service.

No, if only I knew how to take this baby apart

the engraving

is very well done, I have seen over 500 colts in my lifetime and have a few books on engraving and it seems to be well done, (not having a chance to inspect it in person)

congradulations a fine specimen to hold and shoot

Wow!

I see why you were willing to part with your Browning. That is a beautiful rifle that I hope you will never get rid of. That's a gun to pass down to your children and their children. I was looking at those myself, but I thought they were sold out. The Big Boy Deluxe has caught my eye as well. We'll have to go shoot somthing this year, and try that beauty out. ;)

So pretty on the outside, why would they let it leave the factory with those ugly guts? :) Is that a cast part, the carrier as you call it?

That's what I was thinking however they are going to make it right. I just hope I can figure out how to take it apart.

I'm not sure if it is or not?

nah nah nah

I think the gun is now in my safe

never fired it but it is mine yipeeeeeee

thnaks I waited 2 years to buy it

I have no life : ' )

Jefferson

went to the gun show and thought about this one all day

Can't you buy a gun without all of the engraving? You probably won't shoot that one either.:D

I bought a lever action myself, but I went far more conservative, with a 9422 tribute in as new condition.

remove the 4 gold flathead screws from the cover, remove the flat head screw in the butt stock, the butt stock comes off, the cover will pull straight off.. From there it all kind of.. falls apart.

LOL, I actually did shoot this one but it is no longer with me, sold it to fund the Cooper project I keep getting gooned about :)
S.J, that is super nice!!! I miss having a lever gun and want one like that but I know they are getting very hard to find.

Thanks Blair, she was a beauty!.

I actually was able to fully strip the rifle for cleaning. It wasn't too tought, I just needed the guts to dive in.

I found several in a few days, and as of a couple of weeks ago, the fellow that I bought my Tribute from, still had a couple of 98% xtr guns for $650 each. Compared to the $500 plus that people have been selling marked up and rusty 9422s for, $650 for a 98% gun is a bargain.

No kidding! Was this fellow a dealer that went out of business or just a collector that is now getting rid of his stash?

He is a retired fellow that likes to go to gun shows, and buy and sell guns. He bought out another collectors 9422 rimfires, so he had so many at one time. He told me that if I want another 9422, just call him.

Well I'd be all over one but I made a very bold move. My wife and I just had our 1st child in Feburary so she is now off work for a year and because of this I made a promise that I wouldn't buy a gun in 2011
