but tell me that's not a UTG railed forearm?!
If you want to pay three times the price of the UTG to hang a flashlight that you'll never use, fill your boots. The UTG is solid, goes on easily, and is the price that a non-free-float RIS should be.

How much of a weight difference? Any details on the "Suppressor"?
All up, without a mag, the Stag now weighs 11 pounds

. Of course, I'm going to put lithium AA's in the 577 to shave a few grams...
I figure the unmodified weight is listed somewhere on the web site.
The fake can is from
www.mfiap.com - great service, was in my hands one week after the order. It gets surprisingly hot. I got the 2.25" adaptor, so the can is not quite flush with the end of the barrel. Puts a good foot-long flame out the end with SS109. If I were doing it again, I'd get the shortest adaptor to bring the can back.
Had it at the range today. With a stock (read totally crappy) trigger, filthy barrel and resting on my elbows, the majority of ten-shot groups were within 3/4" at 25 yards. Good enough for what I'm doing, and a better trigger would solve a lot of the flyers.
The dots are crisp through the 3x if I squint, which tells me that glasses are nearer in the future than I'd like. The flip mount is the way to go: one quick thumb to get the magnifier out of the way and a quick shove to put it back.
Without the 3x my times were no worse than usual, so the reticle works fine even with the extra dots. The weight slows things down, but not the reticle.
I'm happy - this site combo replaces a CQ/T. While the CQ/T had incredible optics and a laser-sharp reticle, it did wash out in full sun (it was just fine in overcast conditions). The 557 has enough range to work in very bright conditions. And the 3x is faster to deploy/un-deploy than turning an eyepiece.
