Hey everyone. Looking for some imput here. I've been shooting trap here for a bit. Mostly hand throws with buddies and I'm really getting hooked on it. Right now I'm using a 870 express super mag 28 inch barrel. Seems to work but am looking at going to a semi auto. Looking at rem versa max, browning maxus, Winchester sx3 and beretta xtrema2 with ko. I'm looking to join the local club here in prince George BC. Am I way off base with what I'm looking at? Last thing I want to do is show up and have 20 people telling me I got the wrong equipment. Or if your an experienced trap shooter and looking to sell something off then pm me. Thanks for the help.

Join the PG club first and shoot your Remington. You will discover that most of them shoot O/U's. That being said, the guns you mentioned plus the 1100, 391, or even an A400 or 1187 would work fine. IMO, the number of shells downrange count for more than what kind of gun you shoot.

what bdft said.
Join the club and have fun shooting. Buy a different gun if and when you want to.

If it's just for trap there's no need for 3.5" shells hence the urika over extrema. I like o/us better, but lots of clays been broken with autoloaders too. Just make sure you get a shell catcher. Some of those really launch shells at the guy to your right.

PG has good club with a good crew. If you see a gun that catches your eye ask to try a few stations or a round of 25. If you go out and buy a gun on impulse you may see or try one more desirable.
Shoot some registered trap you will be hooked for sure.
PG and Quesnel always have turkey shoots in the fall - be sure to attend these for a great time.
