Hey guys,

Just thought I'd share it here... for some time now, I've been dealing with this very nice guy from the States that is a supplier of Lee products down south. I met him over eBay and I soon began to buy all my Lee reloading stuff from him without even going through eBay anymore (I'd e-mail him for a quote and pay him directly)... then the stuff would show up through Canada Post a week later. His prices were much better than what I could find locally, by the way - if I could even find it locally, lol!

Anyway, he has just opened an online store today and is awaiting his first customers. Check it out and tell me what you think. His name is Rick, by the way (very friendly, honest and helpful guy). He always charged me actual shipping and would do his best to make sure postage costs are kept at a minimum.

Enjoy!

The prices are not that great. I just ordered a bunch of stuff from Lee Factory Sales, and their prices are much better. (approx 20%)

You can find the link to the online dealers from the official lee site.

I would support local, but when they charge $130.00 for a Lee 50th Anniversary Kit here, and $80.00 in the states, it's pretty much a no brainer on the wallet.

Plus I live right by the border and can drive down and pick up my items on the US side, and really save on the shipping.

Thanks for the replies. Although I do admit that factory sales have good deals, their $33 starting price on shipping is a deal killer. I ordered a bullet mold and some dies and the shipping came out to almost the same cost as the items. Needless to say, I did not proceed with the checkout... as any savings were overwhelmed by a ridiculous shipping cost.

I guess it all depends on the quantity you're ordering - if ordering a lot, then I admit that factory sales is a good bet; however, if you only need 1 or 2 inexpensive items, then paying $33 USD for shipping is definitely a deal killer.

P.S. I've also ordered things from local stores and/or sponsors and the taxes + shipping fees are usually a b*tch just as much, sometimes shipping being ridiculously expensive and more than having stuff shipped from down south (as some stores/dealers have a bright idea of adding "handling fees" too in order to milk their sheep customers 120%)... so, that's something to keep in mind as well.

;)

We are Canadian indeed, and we are known for searching out for a deal. I buy as much as I can local, but when there is a 60% surcharge for buying an item in this country, a big part of me says I'm being ripped off and some of the suppliers should be doing more to compete as reasonably as they can.
