Well today was a great day. Not only is it my birthday, my new gun also arrived. I purchased it from a fellow CGNer, it is a H&K USP Custom Sport, in 9mm. It came with the factory case and 8 mags.
The gun is in beautiful shape with between 700-1,000 rounds through her. This is going to be my IPSC production gun after I complete my Black Badge course this upcoming May. Just need to order a Blade-Tech dropped offset holster and I am ready to go.
I have done some dry firing and it feels really good, my only complaint is that I find the slide release an akward reach, probably something I have to get used to, or change mags while there is still a round in the chamber.
Lastly my new H&K USP Custom Sport and it's safe mates. Sig P226 (9mm), Para SSP (.45 ACP) and Ruger MkII Target (.22lr).

), I use my week hand thumb to press it after I insert fresh mag and re-aquire my grip. Some Hk's slide locks are easily disengaged by inserting a fresh mag in an aggressive manner. My new HK hardly ever does it, but my old one does.
