New Vaquero .45 colt to .454

looking at my first 6 gun :
i really like the look and feel of the New Vaquero "color-case" blued . is possible to have it converted to fire .454 casull ,by fun smith or by after market parts ? if so ,i live in burnaby, who could preform said task?
is the stainless stronger than the blued ?
being a range gun would there be much differance between the 5.5" and 7.5" barrels ? personaly i like the look of the 5.5"

If you refer to the older larger BH framed Vaquero, then with conversion to a 5 shot cylinder you can safely do this. The smaller framed "new" Vaquero should NOT have this done, in my opinion, for saftey reasons. - dan

the older larger frame Vaquero would have to be found used . how old ? so i know what to look and ask for ?

A couple of years or so, and it has a larger frame, if you hold them side by side you can see the difference. this is an expensive conversion, probably in the $1800 plus range, and at the moment I don't know anyone in Canada doing it, so you're looking at sending the gun stateside. - dan

had a look at the x frame 460 . much better idea , felt real nice in the hand . it fires .45lc .454c and .460 . thanks for the input .

Well, I'm not sure it's "better", but it certainly would be cheaper and easier. - dan
