NEW video...............LWRC rifles and water testing

Why is that now?

Hey, you edited your post! I wanted to say I hope I'm wrong, but with all the AWB-like silliness from the State Department, how will bringing these in even be remotely possible in their current configurations (i.e. collapsing stocks flash hiders, barrel lengths..)?

Wishful thinking on his part, as you've taken too much of his money already too?

Stop Walt, srsly.

Flash hiders and shorter than 16.1" carbines have been no go since late 2004/early 2005. Nothing new there other than the penalties spelled out for not complying. Any US manufacturer that wants to be or knows they are in the CDN civilian market still is.

The LWRC will arrive here with a fixed stock and a pinned compensator and will be 16.1" or longer (etc).

Darren is Canadian, and ex-CF, and a stand up guy. We both worked out of the same building up here in the past. He's committed to LWRC being available in Canada. Expect Oct/Nov timeframes.

The so-far has been the getting apps rejected while working towards the most favourable config allowed.

Whats the big deal with the test? Nothing new here, I mean the standard ar15 can do the same thing given the same drain times as shown in the video. Am I missing something?

You missed the end. Mag was out when he went underwater. He came up firing without any drain time.
Wake up!

I don't think they are trying to portray their firearms as superior to all others. They are just showing it meets certain possible requirements.

If you hadn't pointed that out, I would have missed it too because I wouldn't have watched until the end. It's a relatively long, *yawn*, video showing the same thing we've all seen several times before... except for that ending demonstration! That was the first time I've seen someone shoot a (still) water logged AR.

If that Future Weapons show was still on and baldie showed that demonstration on the show, people would be lining up to buy those simply because it's a "feature" that distinguishes it from other AR's.

What's the big deal with gas pistons????

They've been around forver, and in an effort to reduct costs, they were taken out of the AR series, and now, after 40 years, they're going back to them like it's brand new technology. M1 Granads have gas pistons for pete's sake.

Hey Walt,

What kind of barrel profile will be coming with the Cdn version? I personally would like something no heavier than a regular M4 barrel.
