New Video! Ruger American Ranch Rifle Review

I think the "internet rep" for x39 is simply based on the fact that up until recently, most people were shooting the ammo out of surplus rifles, and those barrels weren't really built for accuracy. So the reputation the cartridge has, is deeply engrained in the type of rifle it was shot out of. Throw it in a bolt gun like the Ruger, with a good barrel, and you will have better groups (As the video shows)

Now.... What I would like to see is, how this $700 CAD rifle stacks up against the pricier CZ offering, AND the cheaper (if you can find one) Norinco Bushranger 7.62X39 (man I miss those being available!)

I'd love one of these,but can't see how the price went from $459.99 to 499.99 to $579.99 to now $699.00 in only 2 years,that's way to close to CZ price to justify a tuperware gun,but i do REALLY like it,
 
I have a Ruger American Ranch in 450 bushmaster and love it. 3 shot group at 100 yds with factory Hornady ammo measured .730 outside for 3 shots. If these are anywhere near as accurate I will likely pick one up just for cheap practice shooting.

I also have the 450 Bushmaster and getting the same results....terrific bush rifle....I just ordered another in 300 Blackout

It seems all Ruger's prices have jumped up in the last 2 years beyond the exchange rate..... hopefully with overall slower sales down south we will see an improvement in prices this year.

Looks like a nice little gun.
 
I bought mine a month ago from my local gun store for 600. Love it! ####ty norinco milsurp ammo doesn't print the greatest groups but it'll hit the gong all day long.

I have everything to reload. I have some Barnes 200 gn bullets I am waiting on. The factory FTX did way too much damage on the deer I shot. Bullet went in just right of the heart and bruised the whole inside of the shoulder and it was a straight on shot. Unfortunately I don't have a picture.
