Hey guys,
Just thought I'd share something I've come across... In the past I've looked for a replacement option for the aluminum triggerguard/floorplate assembly on the stock Remington 700's (BDL's). Williams Firearms has been making replacement Winchester style tg/fp assemblies for the 700 for a while now, but it required a little bit of minor inletting on stocks (already inletted for the OEM BDL tg/fp). Furthermore, an ADL mag box was required when using the unit. Apparently (and I've confirmed it on their website), Williams now produces a "DROP IN" tg/fp that fits stocks inletted for the OEM BDL unit. You can use your existing BDL mag box, so there is really no work involved other than removing the action screws and swapping out tg/fp for tg/fp. They are available "in the white", blued, matte blued, and in stainless matte. They are pretty reasonably priced - compared to the high end steel replacement units (ala Badger Ord, DD Ross, etc...). Just thought someone might be interested in this info...
Cheers,
hsld.
