New winchester levers?

I think Winchester is going to have a tough row to hoe selling 1894s in .30-30 for what they are asking. They just don't have the same "old west" appeal as an 1886 or 1892. I can see more of a demand for 1886s and 1892s given the cost of originals, especially if they offer better quality than the Brazilian or Italian copies or Marlins.

Well I had the Rossi, Marlin, Chiqppa and wini in my hands when I made the decision and the wini was the only one outta the group that looked and felt like it could last. The Chiappa was beautiful but to pretty for me, rossis safety made me gag, and the marlin was in ok shape put quite frankly after paroozing the marlin forums the quality conrol has me running scared

I have the 92 takedown rifle in 44-40. A bit expensive, but extremely well made and huge fun to shoot.

My buddies were laughing when I told them this week that I am planning on using it for whitetail this year.

Well picked it up today and initial impressions are fantastic. I quickly handled it when I decided to buy it but played with it for a good while today. Action is like butter, blueing is perfect. I'm a huge fan of the irons it comes with, finally a set of horn sights that you can line up easily as suppose to the disappearing marlin. One thing I would've like to have seen is nicer would used for the stocks although the fits is perfect. Stay tuned I'm going to do a complete break down with pics on thurs

Some of the winchesters Clay (Prophet River) has in stock have absolutely beautiful wood.

Really? I was thinking like a nicer grain. My 1892 trapper has generic dull looking with an average grain. I honestly can't complain though, the guns fit and finish is better then anything I've seen
