New Winchester Wildcat .22 Rimfire rifle

It is indeed the good old Toz-78 with better wood and different sights.

I haven't seen this bird yet anywhere. Did any of you guys see it in a gunshop ?

From what I have heard at LeBarons, it could be 6 months or more before we see one them up here in Canada, but I tend to take what they say with a grain of salt.

Just ordered one(or tried to) from SIR, they are supposed to have some arrive in April. I am on the list behind 40 other people. They are supposed to be getting 50, so if you want one, get your name in now. She also said that the price may go up by the time they get there, prices on alot of their guns have gone up since the catalog has gone out.

I just spoke to my local gun shop, they said they heard Browning is no longer keeping Winchester afloat and that they are rumored to have another company buying them out, but as of right now, they can't get any new Winchesters. They just said to keep checking back.

Also ordered one from SIR, I'm on the list, not many of the 50 left now. Price quoted me was 310$ Taxes and shipping included.

If anyone hears anything from SIR or any other source about the availablity of these guns, could you please post it here. I have one on order at SIR and I don't want to be phoning every few weeks to see if they have heard anything. If it won't be here by spring, I'll have to start thinking about something else.

Did anyone get theirs yet ? I just handled one yesterday for the first time, first impression: It is more suited as a boys rifle, I found the stock small, a relatively short length of pull. The whole rifle itself seemed small to me. I'm not a big guy by no means (5' 10", 170lbs).
Just a heads up for those looking to purchase one.

Is there any way that one could get parts for this rifle ? I've been looking for a firing pin assembly for my TOZ-99 for months without success, and the part is interchangeable with the TOZ-78 so unless they changed it, it should be the same.

I had a chance to check one out "hands on" at Eli's Guns & Archery, in Simcoe, Ontario just the other day. Phone # for the store is (519)-426-9042.
Pretty neat little rifle.

Yes I just handled one also. It is quite small. The stock finish was reasonably nice but nothing to write home about. A nice stain with a very low gloss flat finish. The bolt was very rough. I supposed it might smooth out after a few bricks...? The mag and trigger guard are plastic and the old toz flip rear sight is replaced with standard no frills v notch with adjustable inner part. No hood on the front sight like the toz. The local price was $299 so I passed. These things better still shoot cause there's certainly nothing fancy about them for the money.
