it could be, as it is a lanyard ring but if you look at the one on the emt knife you can it is a hex point stud, in the old days we would have referred to it as a skull pummel but now it is a window breaker

They are 5 inches closed and 8.5 inches when opened.

I am still waiting to hear on the steel and if you check back a few responses you will see I did address the window breaker on the dark knife.
