the photo in the NAHC mag looks pretty darn real.
Grimolfson runs White Claw Outfitters, there's other pics on his site:

Doctored picture?
My guess from examining the picture is that it is. The head of the hunter is in the sun .... sunglasses with shadows below the peak of the cap yet no shadows anywhere else in the picture.
Also, the left shoulder of the wolf does not look natural in shape or position.
And of course, lots of background info on the internet on this and other similar claims of a record wolf.
Just use Google Search and search for "new world record wolf".
This case is not unique as I keep on getting these e-mails from friends with record animals from all over with the story repeated year after year with a different location each time but with the same picture.
One of the best going around is the 400 lb deer killed in NB, Maine and various other States.

Go to their trophy gallery section, you'll find it in there with all there other grotesque mutant looking, freak deers that people pay unreal amounts of money to hunt. It's not a natural deer! But the pic is legit.
Just did a little search myself.

They had the wolf kill on video, it aired on the TV show hunting chronicles on July12, 2009 on Wild TV, where it weighed in at 197lbs.
also
h ttp://www.grimsmonstermix.com/ was the bait used and they reference(with pics) this wolf and the fact it was lured in with their bait.
its a legit photo. Last I heard it was a pending world record. Should be enough time now to tell if its going to be a record or not. Friggin thing is a monster though, big moose killer.
