I just got my new XCR today, i am just wondering if i have to take it apart and clean it/do anything before i shoot it other then clean the barrel etc. Kind of a noob question just want to do it properly and make sure its done properly.
Thanks for your help.

I know you are to clean the barrel etc just wondering if i have to disassemble everything and clean thoroughly and oil etc.

Why would you not? Even if it wasn't required, it can only be a good thing to get intimate with a new rifle before taking it to task. JMO, YMMV

Thank you, very nice gun i like the tan! Is there anything specific i should oil and do? This is what i am asking.. Im aware of cleaning it, just not sure exactly what to oil etc to make sure its done properly.

Should i take the whole gas tube apart and clean it all too? Or just the barrel and bolt assembly? Anyone with specific details that has done this would be great.

Might all seem simple to you if you have done it a million times, but this is my first black rifle and i havent done it before in this type of gun. Just want to make sure i do everything right

Take it slow, but yes you should strip and clean the entire gun, I would say gas system as well.

It's pretty hard to screw up, if you do a proper dry fire function test after words and it functions then yer good to go....follow the manual too ;)

That little white rectangular thing in your case, it is call a user manual, it tells you everything you need to know on how to clean and lube your new XCR.
It worked for me, might work for you as well ;-)

I have a PDF copy of the XCR Armorer Course Manual. Shoot me your email address in a pm if you would like a copy.

Robarms has a couple of videos as well, they show the disassembly, barrel, bolt change, etc. Once you do it a couple of times, you'll wonder why you were apprehensive about it. Welcome to the club, enjoy your new toy.

No i havent decided on optics. Im not sure what magnification i want yet. :( Tough call1

I shoot mine typically up to 100m with primary use 50m & less. I use an Eotech. The Eotech will cowitness perfectly with the Magpul MBUS sights and is very easy to use with both eyes open.

keep it simple and get yourself a nice 1-4x in the $$$ range your comfortable spending. Millett DMS is a great optic in the lower price range or a Viper or Mtac in the highter. 1-4x is all you need out to 300 or so. Like Caramel mentioned in another thread and the same way I run my setup is too have a dedicated 1-4x and fixed 10x on QD mounts. I actually prefer the 1-4x for anything 200meters or closer. I guess I should have asked this in your other thread but whats your budget set at?
