I see on youtube by the guys of Robarms that the new XCR 223 with the fast stock have some amelioration. He sais the trigger are better with 4 pound two stage triger and loctited the screw in the gun..

May I know if the rifles his better than the older version ?

Do you think its a good buy???

Thank you!

They we're always a good buy if you had the competency to service a rifle once in a while and apply loctite as needed but it seems it's too onerous to some. Most problems we're in the very early models and changed years ago (Trigger, bolt catch, bolt, op rod, etc...). I have had mine for over 2 years now, on my 3rd brick of american eagle .223, and life is good.

Yes the latest version is a great platform:
I have shot over 3000rds and not one Jam, FTE, FTF etc...
XCR-L has three calibers available .223, 7.62x39 and 6.8spc
Easy take down to clean...
Good accuracy
Fantastic ergonomics, rails, optic mounting is a breeze....
Works great with any AR mag and takes all kinds of ammo!
Press the trigger, click and goes bang every time!
The rifle also has the best Canadian distributor and dealer you could buy a firearm from with lots of parts available. "Wolverine Supplies"

I have never shot one but i have molested 3 or 4 at northpro - the barrel seems so heavy compaired to ar's. Do you find it tiring to keep holding it up on target?

I have a Magpul UBR mine and it is nicely balanced. You could also have the barrel fluted to reduce weight. I was also thinking of removing the muzzle brake on my 7.62x39 barrel to quiet it down and reduce weight a bit (install a thread cap).

A proper foregrip and good sling setup reduce this problem. I put a heavier stock on mine, played with the foregrip position and attached a S&J Hardware Combat Patrol Sling and now the rifle is very well balanced and feels very natural when it is shouldered.

Is there a way to identify early versions from later versions?

the engraving on the right side had "XCR"

if you are pulling the trigger and think the safety is on, it's not, and it's an old one.

the gas block on the older one was a little different as well.

And by serial number mostly. I recommend to anyone who plans to buy an XCR to go spend some time on XCR Forums. It's a private site not affiliated with RobArms and contains a lot of usefull info.

The two quick visual cues for the new model is the integrated trigger guard and the flush rail vs the centre being milled off.

I absolutely love mine. It is the newest version though. I had two FTF in the first 100 rounds while braking it in. I havent had any problems since then and have shot about 1000 rounds. It runs 55gr american eagle on gas setting 1. Id post a picture of it if i knew how lol. Havent been able to figure out how to post pictures LOL.

Any idea of how expensive it would be to get a barrel fluted?
