Hello from the Rockwood/Acton area, found this site surfing other gun sites, and I must say it’s the most informative CANADIAN gun site I have found to date! Love reading all the information, discussions, debates etc..

I have my RPAL, but so far only own non-restricted firearms, although I do have experience with handguns. Right now I'm looking to join a club, however the club I'm looking to join (who you would think would appreciate support and new members) make it difficult to join, by not answering any emails and providing no other info on their website. If anybody could help me with information on joining the Guelph Rod and Gun Club that would be greatly appreciated, or should I just go out there?

Yes Saunders is still running strong....I went to The grgc.ca website and it says to email for membership info, however they don't answer any emails:confused:
 
Hi. When I lived in Guelph, 9 or 10 years ago, the Galt club was recommended to me by the Guelph PD gun cop. It's not that much farther. Another 20 minutes or so. Unfortunately, they're not taking rifle members at this time.
GRGC's web site is out of date too. I'd just pop in on a Saturday afternoon. They were having some local political problems a while back.
"...Saunders..." Must be 100 years old now. Fabulous place that. They provided the bread to the CYO summer camp I was sentenced to during the 60's.

I've wondered why clubs around here (Guelph) are so darn expensive for membership? Looking at $300+/year, when the club in chatham is $38/year. I just don't get it. I would like a place to shoot some skeet/trap/sporting clays and use my rifle once and awhile, but it's just darn expensive to shoot. Figured i'd hit galt/guelph to shoot some trap/sporting clays now and again as a guest shooter if permitted. I know Galt will let me shoot as a guest, haven't asked at the Guelph club yet.
