I'm doing a project on the red army in WWII for my European history class. Decided for my presentation I wanted to include footage demonstrating the firepower of the Mosin Nagant and SVT 40. Problem is I have no clue where to shoot my long guns. I want to do this this weekend, willing to drive a ways to do it. I don't want to join a club, just want to either pay to use a range or go shoot on crown land. Also I live in Toronto. Thanks!

Silverdale Gun Club, its about 90 minutes drive from Toronto and $20 to use the range as a guest on Sat or Sun

There is also crown land up North near Kinmount, about 2 hours from Toronto (check the Crown Land Use Atlas) but it's pretty thick bush in most places and a far hike through what could be some wet and muddy ground to get to a clear enough area to shoot long guns.

Silverdale is your best bet if you want to do it this weekend and not have a lot of hassle.

You want to show video at school of you using guns? I hope your teacher and class mates are as open minded as everyone here is. Best of luck.

I am 25 mins away from Silverdale. 10 mins away from the Niagara Revolver Club. 30 mins away from private property outside the no discharge by-law zone.

Not too bad.

I wish I lived in the middle of nowhere though. I do plan on moving somewhere where I can shoot outside my house and not bother a soul.

where are you going thats outside the no-discharge bylaws in Niagara?

Each city has a map that shows the boundries of the no discharge zone. Niagara Falls has one, Welland, St Catharines too.

If you know someone who has farm land outside of that boundary, and have permission, you can shoot on that land. I think it needs to at least 3 acres, but don't quote me on that.

You should be able to find the maps on this site.
